A geriatric care manager is a professional who specializes in assisting older adults and their families meet and understand the changing needs in the process of aging. Family members and other support professionals often search for answers within themselves, unaware that there are experienced and compassionate geriatric experts available for support and direction.
At Parent Care, we provide a wide range of services and solutions for our clients. As every situation is different, we tailor our services accordingly. We treat your parent as we would treat our own mother or father.
Our services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide strategies for your parent to stay safe and independent at home;
- Coordinate all of your parent’s care;
- Attend doctor’s appointments as support and to communicate concerns and important information;
- Manage medications;
- Identify problems on an ongoing basis;
- Screen, arrange and monitor in-home help or other services;
- Accompany your parent to the emergency room
- Provide crisis intervention;
- Make recommendations for the best community resources including home health, companions, and others;
- Enhance your parent’s quality of life by recommending meaningful social, spiritual and cultural activities, and accompanying as needed;
- Act as a liaison to families at a distance, making sure things are going well and alerting families to problems;
- Assist with moving to or from a retirement community, assisted living, or nursing home;
- Provide consumer education and advocacy

At Parent Care, our staff comes from the social work, nursing, and counseling fields where we specialized in geriatrics. We are private Geriatric Care Managers dedicated to overseeing quality of life issues as well as clinical issues and needs. We are here to support the whole person, and our commitment is to our older clients and their families.
